Overview

Copies operational records from a lab database into a CRM, checking data quality first and skipping anything unchanged. This was built for internal use at a calibration lab, so this page is a summary only.

The problem

Two systems were being kept in step by hand, and bad records could slip into the CRM.

What I did

  • Maps nine record types from the lab database into the CRM.
  • Checks data quality first, and skips anything that has not changed.
  • Keeps an audit log and a small desktop window to run a sync.

Stack

Python, SQL Server, SQLite (sync state and audit log), Tkinter.

Outcome / impact

More than 270 automated tests, in internal use.
