Overview

Uses a camera and OCR to read numbers from an instrument's display and log them to a spreadsheet file. This was built for internal use at a calibration lab, so this page is a summary only.

The problem

Readings from instruments with no data connection had to be written down by hand.

What I did

  • Reads the numbers off an instrument display with a camera and OCR.
  • Logs them to a spreadsheet file.
  • Lets the user pick which part of the picture to read.

Stack

Python, OpenCV, EasyOCR, Tkinter, PyInstaller.
