Overview

A server that lets AI tools read a lab database and propose changes that a person approves, and that can be undone. This was built for internal use at a calibration lab, so this page is a summary only.

The problem

AI tools are useful with business records, but they should never get unchecked write access.

What I did

  • Every change goes through three steps: propose, approve, apply.
  • A reversal uses the same three steps, and every change is journalled.
  • Built on the Model Context Protocol so any compatible AI tool can use it.

Stack

Python, the Model Context Protocol, SQL Server and SQLite (change journal).

Outcome / impact

In development: around 50 automated tests so far.
